"Th-ink"

Graffiti as historical evidence and as deterioration to ancient monuments

Implementation period: 2022 - 2023
Contracting authority: Ephorate of Antiquities of Athens City
Tools: Films-Documentaries, App, Multimedia, Internet

The project "Th-ink: Graffiti as historical evidence and as deterioration to ancient monuments" concerns the implementation of an educational program at the archaeological sites of the Ancient Agora, Kerameikos and the Philopappou-Nymphs-Pnikas hills, which are under the responsibility of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Athens City and host monuments of world cultural heritage.

The project is implemented in the framework of the Act "Th-ink: graffiti as historical evidence and as deterioration in ancient monuments" from the Operational Programme "Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning - NSRF, co-funded by Greece and the European Union"

The aim of "Th-ink" is to highlight the wealth of monuments and ancient finds and at the same time to raise awareness among young people about the protection of cultural heritage. The project examines ancient graffiti as a carrier of micro-history of periods poor in written sources and the consequences of the irreversible damage caused by modern graffiti on monuments, individuals and society.

The Diadrasis team has undertaken, contributing dynamically to the above objectives, the digital promotion of the educational programme and the promotion of the archaeological sites that are now available wherever you are.

More specifically, we have created the following tools:
