A journey through the routes of remarkable women travellers in Greece

Our mobile application “Travellers” is featured in the Aegean Blue Magazine, Issue 109 (July–August 2025), a publication dedicated to culture, tourism, and contemporary Greek creativity, highlighting outstanding initiatives and projects.

The application was developed for the Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation as part of the project “From the Aegean to the Ionian: A Sea of Knowledge” in collaboration with PostScriptum, and Synthesee. Designed for mobile devices, it showcases notable women travellers who journeyed through Greece in past centuries, tracing the routes they followed and the places they visited. Drawing on the Foundation’s rich archival collections and the travellers’ journals, the app presents unique historical accounts that illuminate how Greece was perceived and recorded through the eyes of visitors from earlier eras.

Through a modern and interactive exploration experience, users can follow historical itineraries and discover how Greece was portrayed in travel narratives of previous centuries, creating a meaningful connection between the past and contemporary travel experiences.

The application is available for Android smartphones and tablets and can be downloaded from Google Play.
